This notebook ships with 4GB soldered onboard (non removeable) and one RAM slot. If your system came standard with 8GB, then it has 4GB in the RAM slot. If it has only 4GB, then the RAM slot is empty. To upgrade to maximum, install an 8GB in the RAM slot. RAM slot and hard drive are easily accessible by removing bottom of the notebook. There are 12 Philips PH000 screws. Be careful with that back panel, it has two plastic clips (one near the front LEDs and one near the side-vent). Too much pressure and the inner plastic frame will crack. Use some plastic pryers (in our screwdriver kit) or an old credit card to pop apart the clips.
