A 64-bit Operating System is required to utilize more than 4GB of memory. Per Asus documentation, if varying memory are installed in Channel A and Channel B, the system maps the total size of the lower-sized channel for dual-channel configuration. Any excess memory from the higher-sized channel if mapped for single-channel operation. This motherboard supports memory overclock. Asus recommends to install memory modules from the orange slots for better overclocking capability.
